When I make a martini, the only things I care about are quality and taste. I will not compromise, which is why Sobieski vodka will have a permanent place on my bar. The bottle itself is elegant – although this was not their intention. They wanted a bottle with no fuss and muss which is exactly what they have, but in downplaying the look, they created something classy. Even though it is such a cliché, I have to say that it really does taste as good as it looks. It is clean, smooth and silky and the perfect quality vodka for any martini – straight up with a twist or one of my more, extravagant creations.

I am sure that there are many bottles of vodka on the shelves feeling very inferior next to Sobieski. Be inspired by your choice of vodka.

Do you remember Jerry, the lovely guy over at Martini Art who gave me all those goodies for a competition? We he is having a fabulous martini contest of his own, so please go and check it out here and see if you want to enter. I will be entering but I can't quite make my mind up what to send over, so if you want to give me your suggestions, go ahead!

In other news, I am gearing up for my first gig next month and currently have two helpers - one of which I will pay, the other just wants to come and help because he is so nice! And I will also be reviewing a lovely Polish vodka shortly, Sobieski, that was sent to me for my approval, so watch out for that coming your way pretty soon.

I still have not perfected my pumpkin martini, so until I do, drink some of my Chaitini from the recipe on this blog - it's the perfect fall drink and will warm you inside when it is chilly outside!

My First Official Gig!

So I landed my first gig, which will be in November at a business which will be showing off some high end jewelry by this girl that designs for people in Hollywood, so I am pretty excited. Not only am I doing my martini magic on the day, but I also designed the invites which they loved. I am just hoping that everything goes according to plan and it leads to more bookings in the future. Now I really feel like I am going somewhere with this and not just talking about it. Or drinking my product!

Pumpkin Spice & All Things Nice!

Fall is in the air and I am planning my next creation, which will be a pumpkin martini that is decadent, elegant and different from any other! There are so many pumpkin recipes out there, I really have to search hard to come up with something unique that will have people craving my pumpkin martinis, and not just any old pumpkin martini!I will retreat into my martini laboratory and hope that my new creation is spectacular. And as always, I will share this with you as soon as it is ready!

Rocking My Poodle

Last night I threw a chocolate party - mainly for my friend who sells this healthy chocolate for her to promote it, but I also made some kick arse martinis and promoted Rockapoodle. Am I being to brash by saying that everyone was impressed? Because they were!

Here is my pretty table:

Seriously, how pretty is all that? And I made my White Chocolate Martini and the Pearadise Martini, which is a chocolate pear and seemed to be the favorite among everyone. Then came my chocolate mousse, and you can even eat the white chocolate crinkle cups:

Is it wrong that I ate one of these for breakfast? At least I didn't wash it down with a martini!!

So, it was a nice evening, I had about 20 girls show up and we all talked and had a girlie chocolate night and a few took away my business cards, so it was a really good promotion evening and hopefully I will get some business out of it!

Peachy Keen

Another masterpiece, created just for the new Beverly Hills 90210 (2.0), and I hope that you enjoy sipping on this while watching BH on Tuesday night!

First of all, there are variations and for the lazy people (SJ? Kat?) then you can purchase a good peach nectar/juice. Otherwise, this is how I made it.

Five peaches, skinned and diced (no stone either!). Put them in a saucepan on a low heat with 5 teaspoons of lemon juice. You need to mash them up as much as possibly - over ripe peaches are the best.

Once they are done, you can either push them through a sieve for the nectar, or put them in the blender which makes it more like a puree. Either way, they will both be very thick. I did the blended version and then added 100% pear juice - it takes the sweet edge off, thins it out and doesn't change the color.

The glass was prepared with pie crustini rimmer, but you can use Graham Cracker crumbs, it is exactly the same thing. In the shaker, I added ice, one part Absolut Peach vodka, 1 park peach/pear mixture, 1/2 part triple sec and 1/2 part vanilla liqueur. You don't need the vanilla liqueur, I just like it, but I think you definitely need the triple sec - I cannot emphasize enough how sweet the peach is!

Pour it into the glass, and you have yourselves a Beverly Hills 90210 Peach Pitini!

Variations can be done - like I said, if you don't want to bother with the fresh peaches, find a really good peach juice that is 100%. Or you could just use the peach vodka and a peach liqueur, but I like my martini to taste more of fruit, not alchol. You can also add cream to it too, if you prefer creamier martinis. The options are endless! All I ask is that you enjoy it!

A Beverly Hills Martini

In celebration of the new Beverly Hills 90210 show that starts next week, I have decided to watch - the first couple at least to see if it is any good - and will be having a 9021-Oh No They Didn't! discussion each Wednesday, therefore I believe that a new BH 90210 martini is in order.

All and any suggestions are welcome as to what kind, ingredients, color, anything. There are no prizes, just the satisfaction of knowing that I may create something spectacular from your suggestion! So get on it everyone!!!

Clink Your Glasses and Toast The Winner!

So, Anissa came up with Pearadise Swatini - we assumed the "Swatini" was a nod in the direction of Swank Martini, but if we are wrong, let us know!

Anyway, we truly believe that the delicious pear martini, especially in its chocolate version, is paradise indeed, so it made sense to bestow it with such a fitting name.

Although we like the clever Swatini part, it will be known in its simple, yet elegant form:

"Pearadise"Well done Anissa, we're really pleased for you and glad you came up with such a wonderful name for our martini, and this will officially be on our menu as the Pearadise!

I Heart Myself

While making another batch of pear martinis tonight, I decided to add chocolate syrup. All I can say is "to die for"! The chocolate makes it pearfect in every single way. I think I love myself just a little bit more tonight!

Pear Martini

I made a pear martini today. Grey Goose Pear vodka, Van Gogh Vanilla liqueur and fresh pear nectar. I made that nectar myself! It took f....o....r...e....v....e......r! Okay, well not forever, but I had to heat them up with some vanilla liqueur and a dash of lemon, strain them through the sieve and it is hard bloody work, and then leave it to chill.

Now I think it tastes good, but it is a little on the thick side (no matter how much alcohol I add!) so if anyone has any suggestions as to how to think it out, let me know.

I now need a fabulous name for my pear martini, and not the usual "Perfectly Pear" or "Peartini", something original and fitting for my pear creation. So I am going to secure some fabulous prize and hold a contest for the best name for my pear martini, so start thinking about it now and I will let you know when to get on your marks, get ready, set, go!
